Give us ALL the Flowers

The moment you walk into a room and smell fresh cut flowers, do you just instantly relax? NO? Well I do! LOL

So either I was meant to be a bumblebee or I was destined to help people create their dream event with a beautiful floral arrangement. I think it was the latter ;) When my clients hear the word, “floral” they instantly think the budget is going to skyrocket. Of course you can go bananas with flowers and request crazy or hard to find flowers that either aren’t in season or aren’t the color you are wanting. I will admit for my wedding we went a tad over the top with the floral. We had the main chandelier in the ballroom covered in flowers like a halo around the top. BUT that was my wedding….for pictures click here.

Did you know there are over 400,000 species of flowers? UMMM WHAT. That is like the size of a town! We all have a few favorite flowers and the most common or well known flowers won’t surprise you. Roses are the most popular flower in the world followed by other flowers such as Chrysanthemums,Tulips, Lilies, Poinsettias, Narcissu. The more I am in the event world the more I am learning about different aspects of each event. At first I did not realize that choosing a flower also meant it there was symbol or meaning behind it.

Did you know Tulips mean, deep love? Or that since they bloom first in the spring they symbolize rebirth?

When choosing a flower or a florist, I believe you need to go to the shop and experience the magic of being surrounded by nature’s beauty. I have a favorite florist who always works within my budget and who can make something magical happen with any type of budget. If you don’t know who I am talking about I will tell you…

TATUM FLOWERS off Thunderbird and Tatum. Owner Lisa, is the kindest, most down to earth boss babe I know and I appreciate her endless support of Girl About Town.

Flowers are changing all the time making it a unique and staple to any event. If you work with us believe me “florals/greenery” will be included.

A few of our other favorite local flower vendors are; AZELLY, God’s Garden Treasures, Moon Valley Nursery, Fry’s and Trader Joe’s.

So let’s take a minute to smell the roses and enjoy the beauty a flower can bring to an event.
